Car accidents

If you are covered by a Michigan no-fault policy, you are covered for the following benefits:

  1. All medical bills related to the injury.  This is a lifetime benefit. This includes bills for the ambulance, doctors, prescriptions, medical devices such as wheelchairs, mileage expense for your care and treatment, and even home nursing care by family members.  For the catastrophically injured, it may also include remodeling a home to accommodate limitations.
  2. Wage loss for up to three years.
  3. Up to $20/day to have someone perform routine household services for you, for up to three years.

If you don’t have an insurance policy, you still may be covered.  The law provides a fallback for you in most cases.  Don’t guess.  Come and talk to us and we’ll find the policy that covers you.

Finally, if your injuries are serious enough, you can recover damages for pain and suffering from those who caused your injury.  This includes:

  1. The drivers of the vehicles involved.
  2. The owners of the vehicles involved.
  3. The bars or liquor stores that furnished alcohol to the drivers.  This is a “dram shop” action.
  4. If a defect in the road caused your collision, the state, county or municipal authority in charge of maintenance of the road.
